Questions employers actually ask

Short answers, no legalese. Anything else, ask us on a fifteen-minute call or at info@momup.com.

What exactly do you handle?

The entire employer side of one employee's leave, end to end. Eligibility, every required state and federal notice, the deadline calendar, the employer response when the state opens the claim, hour-by-hour tracking for intermittent leave, and everything through their first day back. You see all of it; you do none of it.

How much does it cost?

One flat fee per leave, quoted on your call. No hourly billing, no subscription, no annual contract, no software to learn. It is a fraction of what a lawyer costs for what is mostly deadline-driven admin work, and far less than one missed deadline.

What happens on the fifteen-minute call?

You tell us about the leave. We tell you which deadlines you are already facing, what handled end to end would look like, and the exact fee. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you exactly who to call instead. No pitch, no follow-up sequence.

Are you a law firm?

No, and that is why this costs a fraction of what a lawyer charges. We administer the leave: notices, deadlines, forms, and tracking. Every case is reviewed by a Massachusetts employment attorney, so you get legal oversight without hourly legal rates.

What size companies do you work with?

Any Massachusetts employer. We built this for companies roughly between 10 and 100 employees: big enough that the law fully applies, too small to have anyone who has done this before. The big national providers sell year-round programs with annual contracts, per-employee pricing, and software to implement, which makes sense if you have leaves running constantly. If you have one or two leaves a year, you would be buying a platform for a problem that happens twice. We sell the leave itself: one case, one flat fee, handled end to end.

We only have a few employees. Does any of this really apply to us?

If you have even one Massachusetts employee, PFML applies in full: the notices, the ten-business-day response, the job protection. That is true even if your company is based in another state. Other obligations switch on at 6, 15, 25, and 50 employees. Our free PFML wizard tells you exactly which ones apply at your headcount.

The leave has already started and we have done nothing. Is it too late?

No, and this is the most common call we get. The sooner we take it over, the more deadlines are still saveable. If the state has already sent you an application notice, you likely have days, not weeks, so book the call today.

How fast can you start?

We confirm every booking request within one business hour, hold the consult same day or next day, and can start the case immediately after.

Do you work outside Massachusetts?

Massachusetts only, and that is deliberate. Leave law is state by state, and we would rather know one state cold than fifty states thinly. If your employee is outside Massachusetts, we will point you to the right resource.
